ATiS President’s Message, 2015
As we enter a new year for ATiS in 2015, we are excited about what lies ahead. We’ve just elected a new Executive Council that will bring about fresh and exciting ideas to support the telecom market in Singapore. We shall increase our networking activities this year by organising even more Telecom Tuesday networking events. These Telecom Tuesday events will feature invited industry thought leaders discussing leading edge topics that are impacting and changing the industry in new ways. Even more, these events bring together industry professionals to meet and greet over food and drinks.
One of our featured Telecom Tuesday sessions last year focused on cryptocurrency (Bitcoins) and it was oversubscribed! It was an event filled with robust ideas and thought leadership. Our first event this year will feature Software Defined Networks (SDN), one of the hottest topics around in the networking industry.
We will continue to participate and support CommunicAsia, June 2015, with an ATiS booth there.
We will increase our support of regional Telecom or Internet infrastructure events like Global Sourcing (Internet and Mobile) in HK , April and October.
We continue to contribute 2 members to sit in the Technical Standards Advisory Committee of IDA InfoComm Development Authority of Singapore).
As with previous years, we will also participate in the IDA - MCMC (Malaysian Communications and MultiMedia Commission) bilateral meeting social event, to be held in Malaysia. In October, we will participate in the Asia Telecommunications Information Exchange to be held in Tokyo, Japan, where Telecim related organisations garher and exchange uodates on each country's advances in Telecommunications and the Internet infrastructure.
As technology advances rapidly, we will organise technology related workshops related to Mobility: Wireless infrastructure, Software Defined Networks, and Security.
This will be a busy year for ATiS and I look forward to working with the Executive Council to deliver the most benefits to our association members and to industry professionals alike!
